Paper Works
June 11-August 19, 2000
at Connecticut Graphic Arts Center, Norwalk, CT

    The Connecticut Graphic Arts Center will hold its first regional exhibition, entitled Paper Works, from June 11 through August 19, 2000 with an opening reception on Sunday, Jun 11 from 2 to 5 p.m. The entry deadline is Saturday, May 20, 2000.

    All original works of art - two and three-dimensional - that are made On or Of Paper specific to printmaking, photography, book arts, computer generated art, hand-made paper art, paper sculpture and mixed media images that contain an element of printmaking are acceptable. Original work will be judged and must have been created since January, 1998. There is no slide process. The exhibition is open to all artists living in the Northeast - Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

    The juror for Paper Works is Harry Philbrick, director of the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art. He will select the work and award three artists a three-person exhibition in the Connecticut Graphics Arts Center Gallery.

    Two-dimensional work cannot exceed 60 by 60 inches and must be wired, framed and ready to hang. Three-dimensional work must not exceed 30 by 48 by 60 inches and must include sculpture stand if necessary.

    Hand-delivered works must be received Friday, May 19 or Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mailed entries must arrive no later than May 20. Notification forms will be mailed out by May 24.

    Entry fees are $25 for up to three works for non-members, and $15 for up to three works for members. CGAC memberships are available for an additional annual fee of $25.

    The Connecticut Graphics Arts Center was founded in 1995 as a non-profit, multi-media studio workshop and gallery devoted to the creation of original prints, photographs, artists' books and related disciplines through its year-round workshops conducted by nationally recognized master printers. The Center's Gallery presents the finest historic and contemporary graphic art.

    Located in a beautiful renovated 19th century stone carriage house on the grounds of the historic Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, the Center is about one hour from New York and one-half hour from New Haven.
